The same lipstick can look radiant on one person and tired on another. The reason is undertone.
Find your undertone
Look at the veins on your inner wrist in natural light. Greenish suggests warm, blue or purple suggests cool, and if you can’t tell, you are probably neutral.
Shade ideas
- Warm: peach, brick red, earthy browns, coral
- Cool: cool pinks, wine, plum, blue-based reds
- Neutral: almost anything, especially dusty rose and classic red
Swatch it properly
Test on your lips or fingertips (closer to lip colour than the back of your hand) in daylight. When shopping online, look at swatches from people with a similar skin tone.
